Celebration planned at job center in Wheeling

A Wheeling facility for job seekers will belatedly celebrate its reopening on Wednesday, June 5.

The event at the American Job Center, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Suite 200, is set to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours, workshops and other activities are planned.

The event will be hosted by the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, Business and Career Services, Illinois Department of Employment Security, Harper College and other organizations.

The facility opened in 2021, but a public event wasn’t held at the time because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release.
