Where is compassion?

Regarding the letter headlined, “Republican states let children starve”: I don't know where the writer got his information from, maybe a far-left group. The letter is missing one big, rich state, which is a Democratic state, California. L.A. has homeless veterans, migrants, children, women, etc., living in tents on sidewalks. How compassionate are these Democratic leaders?
