Northwest Concert Band Summer Concert Series
Join the Northwest Concert Band for its highly popular, free, outdoor summer concerts on June 17, July 1, July 15, and July 29 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The concerts will entertain the whole family, featuring movie music, popular hits, patriotic pieces, and other favorites. Each concert ends with a march which audience members are invited to direct.
• Pops, Movies and Taylor Swift! on June 17 includes fun tunes, such as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Taylor Swift in Concert,” “Lion King” and “Highlights from Wicked.”
• All American Salute on July 1 features patriotic themes, including “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “American Salute,” “Second American Folk Rhapsody,” “American Patrol,” “Armed Forces Salute” and “America the Beautiful.”
• Adventures in Danger on July 15 will have you on the edge of your seat with pieces including “Robin Hood Symphonic Suite,” “Star Wars Episode III” and “Golden Helmet of Cortez.”
• Band Member Spectacular on July 29 includes favorites such as “Instant Concert,” “Buglers Holiday,” “Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Chorale and Shaker Dance.”
In addition, hear the Northwest Concert Band perform as part of the Community Church of Rolling Meadows’ annual Cornfest. Cornfest’s Arts and Crafts Fair is Saturday, Aug. 3, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Northwest Concert Band performs Sunday Aug. 4 at 4:30 p.m. Visit ccrm.church/66th-annual-cornfest/ for more information on Cornfest.
All concerts take place at the Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720, Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. Bring lawn chairs to sit outside (chairs not required for Cornfest).
Concerts are free; however, donations are appreciated. The band will also be selling prepaid cards at the concerts for use with area merchants. These cards are sold via RaiseRight, a fundraising program. The band earns a percentage of every card purchase at no additional cost to you.
