33rd annual Chop Around the Block raises money for Ronald McDonald House

This year marks the 33rd year Foltos’ Tonsorial Parlor at 7 E. Wilson St. in Batavia has put on the 24-hour “Chop Around the Clock” event, with all the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald’s Children’s Charities-Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.

It starts at 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and continues all the way through to Saturday, June 1, at 4 p.m. This fun-filled event will include music, dancing, bake sale, raffles, open mic, poetry, hot dogs, and more.

They have raised over $350,000 over the past 33 years. They need bakers, dancers, entertainers, people to get haircuts, anything you can think of.

The schedule will begin on Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. with haircuts and food.

At 6 p.m., there will be an ice cream-eating contest. The music begins as well as the brisket cookout. Don’t miss the great pulled pork BBQ and brisket, hot dogs and anything else extravaganza at the Chop.

At 7 p.m., there will be kids’ games, and from 8 to 11 p.m., join in the world’s longest conga line, dancing, musicians, kids’ games, and more.

From 11 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, the music continues, stories shared, and ever-exciting late night haircuts

At 8 a.m., bring breakfast. There will be more musical entertainment and kids’ games from 8:30 to 10 a.m. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy face painting, more music, more food as the haircuts continue.
