Abortion issue is distorting election

Allow me to correct Susan Estrich’s very wrong statement in her column “What voters don’t know … yet.”

Trump did not end abortion rights. The Supreme Court rightly returned the issue to the states where it should be. The states have varied positions, but abortion rights have not ended.

Also, Ms. Estrich let it slip that voters don’t really pay attention until the “playoffs.” If so, why is her party demanding early voting and “banking the vote?” Could it possibly be the fear of a last-minute Biden scandal? Let’s return to one-day elections.

A further abortion thought: Why is abortion the foremost issue for women?

Birth control pills are readily available to all, and explicit sex education is taught in all the schools. We were told the pill and sex education would prevent unplanned pregnancies. Thus abortions should be in decline …. Shouldn’t they be?

Also, Planned Parenthood must be required to change its name. It has nothing to do with parenthood, or planned. Abortion seems to be just careless birth control.

Now, thanks to extremists like Ms. Estrich, the exaggerated abortion issue is distorting a crucial election.
