Skokie Highway lane closures in Gurnee
Repairs by the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad to a crossing on Route 41 (Skokie Highway) will begin, weather permitting, Tuesday, May 28.
Starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, northbound traffic will be shifted over to the southbound side and traffic will remain one lane in each direction between Riverside Drive and Ferndale Street.
By 5 p.m. June 21, all lanes will reopen to traffic with two lanes in each direction.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to detour signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
