Lawyer’s license suspended

The Illinois Supreme Court has suspended the law license of Susan M. Bryan of Carol Stream for six months, it announced Thursday.

It said Bryan neglected to file a bankruptcy petition for a client, falsely told the client she had filed the petition, and did not return the client’s file or refund any unearned fees. Bryan also produced to Indiana disciplinary authorities several letters she said she sent to her client, but the contents were inconsistent with what the client received. She was first disciplined in Indiana.

Bryan would have to petition for reinstatement and have a hearing before she could practice again, the news release said.
