Geneva police to launch new drone during Memorial Day parade

The Geneva Police Department will unveil its new drone with an inaugural flight during the American Legion Fox River — Geneva Post 75 Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27.

Two Geneva officers received their Federal Aviation Administration certification to pilot the Skydio X10 drone and will launch it before the parade steps off at 10 a.m.

The Drones for First Responders Act authorizes the use of law enforcement drones for real-time monitoring during parades and special events.
