New parking lot for Grayslake Central High School underway
Construction is underway on a 90-space remote parking lot for Grayslake Central High School.
The $900,000 project addresses a decadelong issue of inadequate parking space, particularly during large events at the school, according to Grayslake Community High School District 127.
The district acquired a former park district maintenance lot at 477 N. Lake St., and an adjoining property at 467 N. Lake St., to create a new lot to include three electric vehicle charging stations.
Many trees, shrubs and perennials will replace vegetation removed during demolition. The project is scheduled to be completed in fall.
