Scouting for food

On Saturday, May 11, scouts from Troops 399 and 399G spent the day working with the Hoffman Estates Post Office. The Scouts joined in to support the Post Office on its annual Food Drive.

The letter carriers collected food along their routes then brought them back to the main office where the scouts took over. They sorted, checked expiration dates, repacked 85 cases and just over 2,000 food items. The food was then delivered by the troops to the food pantry at the Church of the Holy Spirit.

LaVerne Horgan, coordinator at the food pantry, express gratitude for the timely donation. The number of families they support has almost doubled recently.

Scout Troops 399 and 399G are chartered by St. Hubert Catholic Church in Hoffman Estates.
