Bartlett man accused of attacking police officers

A 22-year-old Bartlett man faces felony charges alleging he attacked police officers Thursday night, authorities said Monday.

Eduardo Mascorro Jr. is set to appear in Cook County court Tuesday on two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one count each of aggravated resisting a peace officer and criminal damage to property, Bartlett police said.

According to police, officers were responding to a call for service at about 10:30 p.m. May 16 the 1000 block of Mable Lane when Mascorro charged them unprovoked and began punching them.

Mascorro was arrested at the scene then released pending Tuesday’s court hearing.
