Prospect Heights Parks to hold Garden Dash 2K/4K run June 15

On June 15, the Prospect Heights Park District’s inaugural Garden Dash 2K/4K is happening at Country Gardens Park, 901 N. Schoenbeck Road, and individuals, partners, families, and groups are welcome.

Register by June 3 for either the 2K or 4K distance and receive a commemorative Garden Dash T-shirt and a goody bag. The cost is $15 per person and all proceeds will support the Prospect Heights Police Department’s “Helping Hands Fund.”

The two-hour event is not chip timed and begins at 10 a.m. and parking is available at Country Gardens Park.

The Prospect Heights Police Department’s Social Services division created the Prospect Heights “Helping Hands Fund” when numerous local families lost their homes due to a fire a few years ago.

In addition to natural disasters, the police department encounters numerous residents experiencing financial crises due to falling victim to crimes including domestic battery, child abuse, sexual assault, and homelessness.
