After 40 years of providing dedicated podiatric services to patients, Dr. Mark Ryerson has announced his retirement from his practice with Northern Illinois Foot and Ankle Specialists (NIFAS), effective June 1, 2024.

Dr. Ryerson made numerous contributions to podiatry and the Arlington Heights, community. In 2021, NIFAS acquired the practice he founded, Central Podiatry, and Dr. Ryerson continued to serve his patients at the NIFAS Arlington Heights office. His expertise in treating foot and ankle conditions and commitment to patient care have earned the respect of his patients.

Dr. Ryerson's leadership roles, including his tenure as the president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and as a delegate for the American Podiatric Medical Association, reflect his passion for advancing podiatric medicine and advocating for the well-being of patients.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, his colleagues and patients will deeply miss Dr. Ryerson's warmth, compassion and sense of humor.

Dr. John Thometz will assume care responsibility for Dr. Ryerson’s former patients and accept new patients at the Arlington Heights location.
