How to help make Gurnee parks beautiful Saturday

The Gurnee Park District hosts Park Beautification Day from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, and is looking for volunteers to take part.

Participants will help beautify community parks by planting flowers, mulching and picking up branches/trash at four locations: Hunt Club Park, 900 N. Hunt Club Road; O’Plaine Park, O'Plaine Road and Russell Avenue; Ravinia Park, 920 Ravinia Drive; and Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave.

Plan to dress in layers based on the weather — long pants, old sneakers/shoes, gardening-style gloves, etc. Additional tools and supplies will be provided. and all ages are welcome.
