Naperville firefighters investigating fire at commercial building

Naperville firefighters are investigating the cause of a Tuesday night fire in a commercial building.

Firefighters received notification that a fire alarm was activated shortly after 10 p.m. in the 400 block of West 5th Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, the sprinkler system had activated, and there was an odor of smoke, according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department. They forced entry into the unit where they suspected the fire originated. By 10:23 p.m., the fire was under control, according to the news release.

Firefighters ensured the blaze did not spread into adjacent units at the commercial building. No one was injured.

The Bolingbrook Fire Department and Warrenville and Lisle Woodridge fire protection districts assisted the Naperville Fire Department in the incident.
