Bears’ predictions don’t add up

The Bears are saying their lakefront stadium will provide 43,000 construction jobs and cost $4.7 billion (will really be $8 billion to $10 billion). Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas is pretty similar to what they want to build and provided 2,700 of these jobs.

The Hudson yards project in New York cost $25 billion in 2019 money and it only took 23,000 construction workers. How is the Bears stadium going to be less than one-fifth that in price (not counting inflation), but have twice the amount of construction jobs. It really doesn’t make a lot of sense but then again neither does demolishing a beautiful racetrack or a perfectly good stadium that the state still owes $600 million on.
