The force was with them during Arlington Heights school’s annual Walkathon
Students, teachers and staff from Patton Elementary School in Arlington Heights paraded through the school neighborhood Thursday to raise money for Make-A-Wish.
It marked the 17th annual Patton Walkathon — a two-hour tour up and down streets with stops at six themed locations.
Since the first walk, the Patton community has raised more than $165,000 for the foundation, which grants wishes to children with critical illnesses.

Students raised money this spring in a variety of ways. Each $2 donation allowed them to come dressed to school wearing spirit day themes. On Tuesday, they got the opportunity to pie a teacher in the face through the purchase of raffle tickets.
