We deserve answers on stalled bill
I read today that the bill eliminating senior driving tests has been stalled in the Illinois House. That's the bill that would bring Illinois in line with 49 other states that don't require road tests based on advanced age, targeting people with driving records better than the general population.
Per the article, and as commented on by Rep. Fred Crespo of Hoffman Estates, nobody seems to know why the Bill was stalled. What's with that? Are the workings of state government conducted in total secrecy? How can that be in this wonderful age of transparency and the Freedom of Information Act?
What's going on? We deserve to know exactly who stalled this bill, why it was stalled and what was the motivation behind it. Or perhaps more likely in this corrupt state, who was the monied interest behind the stalling?
