Thomas J. Canale honored with Envision Unlimited Humanitarian Award

Envision Unlimited, a full-spectrum care organization serving people with disabilities, has honored Thomas J. Canale with the 2024 Bright Futures Humanitarian Award. The honor recognizes Canale, a private wealth adviser with Northwestern Mutual’s Canale Financial Group, for his role as a changemaker, compassionate champion and tireless advocate for people with disabilities.

“Tom’s commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities and their families remains a benchmark for all of us at Envision Unlimited,” said Mary Kay Krupka, chair of the board of directors. “We are grateful for his many years of service and generous support, which continue to inspire us to go above and beyond as we make a difference in the lives of those who have been marginalized, underserved and historically ignored.”

Canale was an Envision Unlimited board member for more than a decade. He chaired the inaugural Bright Futures Ball and spearheaded the first Small Victories fundraiser.

A private wealth adviser and founder of Northwestern Mutual’s Canale Financial Group, since 1995, he has developed a strong passion for working with families and caregivers with a loved one with disabilities. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ with a Chartered Special Needs Consultant® designation from the American College of Financial Services. ChSNC® designees are equipped with the specialized skills needed to help parents and caregivers plan for the future with honesty, ethics and compassion.

Canale has been named a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor and a Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Financial Advisor. He has also received the Distinguished Teaching Excellence Award from the Northwestern University School of Professional Studies and the Community Service Award from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
