State-Champion Fentanyl Awareness Video Sparks Crucial Conversations

Fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid, has become a pressing issue nationwide, and a group of students is stepping up to raise awareness.

Their video, at youtu.be/sL1Zwxt7vS0?si=SGNbPmq28dfZpCSg, titled "Face Fentanyl, Face Death,” addresses the dangers associated with this silent killer, and the risk of taking drugs which could be laced. The students involved conducted in-depth research and collaborated with local experts to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of their message.

The video placed first in the State round of the HOSA (Future Healthcare Professionals) Public Service Announcement event, and will be presented at the International level in June. The students behind this initiative were last year’s international third place winners for their PSA addressing mental health stigma.

The group aims to disseminate life-saving information and foster awareness about using illegal drugs that may be laced with fentanyl.

To support this initiative, watch the video and share it.
