Holy Trinity to be part of Holy Hill Celebration May 18

Remember when Elgin was known as the “City of Churches"?

Take a tour of Elgin’s churches within the Holy Hill area!

Elgin’s founder, James T. Gifford, donated land to encourage churches to come to Elgin leaving generations of residents with a wide variety of amazing religious architecture in and near downtown.

All are welcome to visit the churches that earned this name for our town on Saturday, May 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Holy Hill churches are: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (357 Division St.), First Congregation Church of Elgin (256 E. Chicago St.), First United Methodist Church (216 E. Chicago St.), St. John’s Lutheran Church (115 N. Spring St.), Primera Iglesia Bautista (12 S. Chapel St.), Vineyard Church of Elgin (220 Division St.) and St. Mary’s Catholic Church (400 Fulton St.)
