Donuts for Diapers benefits foster children

Foster children served by Lutheran Child and Family Services received a gift of diapers and wipes thanks to Living Christ Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights.

On April 13, Living Christ Lutheran Church hosted “Donuts for Diapers.” Members of the community and the church dropped off 6,322 diapers and 14,542 wipes. While at the church, donors enjoyed coffee, juice, donuts and fellowship. The church appreciated all who dropped by and helped.

The collection effort was one of the ways that people at Living Christ try to reflect the love and caring of Christ to the community. The church also hosts a food pantry that helps people meet food needs. A group of knitters and crocheters meets weekly to craft blankets, hats, and scarves that are contributed to those in need. There are also Bible studies and social events.

On Saturday, June 1, the public is invited to a Block Party from 1-4 p.m. There will be free food, music by Alex Falls and Friends, and fun and games.

The public is also invited to attend worship services at 10 a.m. on Sundays. Services can also be viewed through livestreaming and later on the church website livingchristlutheran.org.

For anyone with spiritual needs or seeking guidance on matters of faith, Pastor Bill Harder can be contacted through the church office. Pastor Bill also looks forward to hearing from people with ideas on how the church can better serve the community. He can be reached at (847) 377-7133 or by email at pastorbillharder@outlook.com.

Living Christ Lutheran Church is at 625 E. Dundee Road, Arlington Heights, near Frenchman’s Cove.
