Highland Park native coaches All-Navy Wrestling Team

Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Sigonella Adult Sports Coordinator Angelina Gott was recently selected to coach the All-Navy Wrestling Team during the Armed Forces Sports Wrestling Championship in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“When faced with adversity, I pride myself on being able to adapt and overcome; I’m hoping I can bring that to the team,” said Gott. “Wrestling is a mental game. Your physical strength can only take you so far until that mental toughness kicks in. I hope I can inspire my team to overcome adversity.”

Gott is from Highland Park, and was granted an athletic scholarship to Lindenwood University in Missouri to wrestle. She has 10 years of wrestling experience and previously served as assistant coach for a women’s wrestling team. Gott said this was a new but welcome challenge and she was excited to go back to the sport that was her life for 10 years.
