Celebrate BabyFest in May at Gail Borden Public Library

Gail Borden Public Library has several fun programs for babies to enjoy and for moms to receive helpful information. The programs listed below do not need registration.

BabyFest Book Challenge

To honor the library’s 150th anniversary, new and soon-to-be caregivers are invited to a challenge. Read 150 books (only five per day!) with your baby or baby-to-be throughout May and receive a prize! Pick up a log at any library location or go to gailborden.beanstack.org/reader365.

Move n’ Play

Toddlers, age 1 to 2 with an adult, can have fun doing gross and fine motor play activities while making new friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, May 6 and June 3, at the South Elgin Branch, 127 S. McLean Blvd.

Children’s musical show with Nanny Nikki!

Children, infant to age 6, will enjoy a performance by Nanny Nikki, a Grammy-nominated children’s entertainer, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 in the Meadows Community Rooms at the main library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

Baby Obstacle Course

Toys and large motor activities will be available for wigglers, crawlers and early walkers from birth to 18 months. The fun is from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, in the Main Library Meadows Community Rooms.

Sensory Fun for Every Little One

Babies from newborn to 36 months old will explore the world around them in this drop-in play program from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, in the Main Library Sally Lee Rooms.

BabyFest

Stop by or “stroller in” to explore the latest baby information in the area from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 11, in the Main Library Meadows Community Rooms. The library will feature health and wellness resources, information on community services and early childhood literacy information.
