Aurora hosts workshop to an empower seniors against scams

National Senior Fraud Awareness Day is observed annually on May 15.

It serves as a reminder to raise awareness about the prevalence of scams targeting older adults and to educate seniors on how to protect themselves from financial scams.

On National Senior Fraud Awareness Day, the city of Aurora is collaborating with the FBI to host the “Empowering Seniors Against Scams” Workshop.

Sign up for a free one-hour workshop, led by the FBI, for Aurora senior citizens, caregivers, family, and service providers to provide the knowledge and tools required to recognize and avoid scams that threaten financial security.

The workshop, which is free and open to the public, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Senior Services Associates, 2111 Plum St. and Bardwell Residences, 301 Weston Ave.
