Adopt-a-Highway event in Hawthorn Woods

In celebration of Earth Day, Hawthorn Woods’ Sustainability Committee will host an Adopt-A-Highway volunteer event from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Volunteers will clear roadside debris from the north and south sides of Old McHenry Road between Lagoon and Darlington drives. The village has maintained this portion since 2010.

Meet at 9 a.m. in front of the village hall barn, 2 Lagoon Drive. Donuts, coffee, and water as well as safety vests, gloves and trash bags will be provided.
