No one hurt in fire at Wheeling apartment building

No one was hurt in a fire at a Wheeling apartment building Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The blaze was reported about 2:15 p.m. on the fifth floor of a five-story building on the 200 block of Oak Creek Drive. It was contained to a common area and didn’t spread to any individual apartments, according to a news release.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental. Crews with the Des Plaines and Prospect Heights fire departments assisted on the scene.
