BADC to announce 50th Citizen of the Year at Annual Dinner May 15

The Barrington Area Development Council (BADC) will announce the winner of its 50th Citizen of the Year Award at its Annual Dinner on Wednesday, May 15, at Makray Memorial Golf Club.

Ticket are available online at The-BADC.org.

The BADC Annual Dinner brings together volunteers of local organizations, elected officials, and community leaders in a tribute to community service, and to honor the award recipient.

Dr. Craig Winkelman, Barrington220 superintendent of schools, will deliver the Keynote Address. This school year, Barrington220 is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its formation as a community unit school district — with the theme “Unified for 50.”

BADC annually searches the ranks of community volunteers in the area to find an outstanding but little recognized individual or organization. BADC looks for a worthy recipient for its annual community service award, which is given to a community leader who consistently has been involved in volunteer work and has quietly sought to meet the needs of the Barrington-area communities.

A BADC committee selects the winner from nominees representing — but not limited to — such diverse fields as health care, conservation, preservation, education, youth work, public service, business and transportation.

BADC Annual Dinner tickets can be purchased online at The-BADC.org.
