Kane Forest Preserve Foundation hosts native plant sale April 27
The Kane Forest Preserve Foundation announces the return of its Native Plant Sale, aimed at promoting biodiversity, supporting local ecosystems, and fostering sustainable gardening practices.
Shop the in-person sale on Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Creek Bend Nature Center, 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles.
Patrons can browse a diverse selection of native plants, receive expert advice from knowledgeable staff, and immerse themselves in the beauty of native flora.
Native plants play a vital role in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting local wildlife. They provide essential nectar sources for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths, fireflies, and bats, while also serving as habitats for various mammals.
Also, native nuts, seeds and fruits sustain the diverse array of wildlife found in the local communities. By incorporating native plants into landscapes, you can mitigate water runoff, improve air quality, and create vibrant, biodiverse habitats.
