Organist David Rhodes and the Mighty Wurlitzer organ concerts have returned to the Tivoli stage, thanks to a generous grant from the JCS Arts, Health & Education Fund of DuPage Foundation. The organ lights up 30 minutes before the screening, so come early and enjoy the music.
It will be followed on May 6 by “Zone of Interest,” the 2023 Academy Award winner for best international film. In this film, loosely based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis, the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
On May 13, it will be “Perfect Days,” a 2023 Wim Wenders film. This coproduction between Japan and Germany stars Kōji Yakusho in the role of a cleaner of public toilets in Tokyo. Outside of his structured routine he cherishes music on cassette tapes, books, and taking photos of trees. Unexpected encounters reveal more of his story in a deeply moving and poetic reflection on finding beauty in the world around you.
