York Furrier auction preview event set for April 24 in Elmhurst

After 93 years in business, York Furrier Inc. in Elmhurst has closed the doors to this iconic purveyor of luxe outerwear and accessories due to retirement.

York clients and the public have an opportunity to purchase part of the store’s historic legacy via an online auction conducted by Grafe Auction Company.

The sale features stylish furs, fine outerwear and accessories, as well as collectible treasures — the York Gold Coin Gift Certificate, retail and office fixtures, sewing equipment and materials, a monogram machine, kitchen appliances and stemware, holiday decorations, fancy buttons and buckles, and more.

York Furrier will be open to preview and inspect items in-person on Wednesday, April 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. at 107 N. York St. in Elmhurst. The online auction begins closing on Thursday, April 25, at 10 a.m. CST.
