Aurora police search for hit-and-run driver

A 65-year-old Naperville man is in critical condition after his bicycle was struck by a black Volkswagen Beetle in what Aurora police are calling a a hit-and-run crash.

Police said the collision happened just before 5 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 59 north of Liberty Street.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital by Aurora Fire Department paramedics.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing as police continue to search for the offender’s vehicle, which they believe may have damage to the passenger side.
