Kane board chair avoided grandstanding
I am sure we are all thankful for Kane County Treasurer Lauzen’s March 28 letter to the editor explaining the definition of insinuate. I would expect nothing less from his arrogance. It would have been more appropriate for him to explain why the Kane County Board should have anything to say about immigration.
My understanding of county government is that immigration is not a county responsibility anywhere in the United States. Any vote on immigration at the County level is nothing more than grandstanding and political performance.
Chairperson Pierog’s clearly understands the grandstanding nature of the proposal by refusing to break the tie vote regarding immigration. If county board members wish others to know their views on immigration, they are free to do so. However, board members’ time and effort should not be wasted on political posturing on immigration when they should be working on the challenges facing the county that are in no small part due to Mr. Lauzen’s poor, arrogant leadership as previous county board chair.
And in the event Mr. Lauzen needs the definition of arrogant, a term he likes to use, here it is: “Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.”
You are welcome to make your views known, Mr. Lauzen, but stop the political grandstanding — it is insulting to the residents of Kane County.
