Rail crossing at routes 120 and 83 in Grayslake to close

The Illinois Department of Transportation is alerting drivers that the rail crossing on Route 120 (Belvidere Road) west of Route 83 (Barron Boulevard) will be closed for nearly two weeks, weather permitting, beginning at 9 a.m. April 29.

A full closure is required for repairs by the Canadian National Railroad.

A detour will direct motorists to Hainesville Road, Washington Street and Barron Boulevard.

The work is expected to be complete by 7 a.m. May 11. Delays are expected.
