Naperville Park District highlights volunteers to kick off National Volunteer Week

The Naperville Park District is highlighting high school student volunteer efforts to celebrate National Volunteer Week.

Students from Naperville North, Neuqua Valley and Naperville Central high schools worked with park district officials and volunteered on various projects, including cleanup at Sindt Woods, Wil-O-Way Commons and Brooke Prairie.

The park district will host special events on April 20 for National Volunteer Week. From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will help at various parks and facilities throughout the park district. Volunteer tasks will include mulching, planting and weeding. For information about the event, email Becca Krzyszkowski at rkrzyszkowski@napervilleparks.org

The park district also will host its annual shredding event at Centennial Beach from 8 to 11 a.m. Volunteers will assist with traffic control, unloading boxes and greeting participants.
