Glenbard Parent Series to outline how to make tough talks easier

On Tuesday, April 23, the Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families will present “How to Talk to Kids and Make the Tough Talks Easier: Relationships, Teen Health and More” with teen development specialist Robyn Silverman at noon and 7 p.m. via Zoom.

Go to glenbardgps.org for further information and the links to these two webinars.

Research shows that young people want to talk to caregivers. Silverman returns to GPS to discuss key communication skills, as well as provide tools to address tough topics such as friendships, failure, anxiety, bullying, body image and more.

Silverman will present five things caregivers need to know (and what to avoid) in order to listen, talk and connect with tweens and teens. Silverman will provide takeaways so participants leave feeling confident and ready to talk with their kids about any topic.

Continuing professional development units are available.

Silverman is a leading child and adolescent development specialist with a focus on character education and body/self-esteem development. She is known for entertaining her audience and giving tips that can be put into action immediately.

The Glenbard Parent Series is generously sponsored by the Cebrin Goodman Center, Community Consolidated School District 93 Birth to 5 Coalition, Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE), College of DuPage, Duly Health and Care, DuPage Regional Office of Education, Emmy Gaffey Foundation, Glenbard Early Childhood Collaborative, Kids Matter, Kiwanis Clubs, Prevention Leadership Team of the DuPage County Health Department, and Webb-Hutter Family Fund of DuPage Foundation.
