DeKalb man killed in Maple Park train crash

The Kane County coroner’s office has identified the man killed by a train Monday afternoon in Maple Park.

He was Alexander Garivaltis, 38, of DeKalb.

Garivaltis was hit by a train around 5:40 p.m.

The crash is being investigated by Maple Park police, the Kane County sheriff’s office and the Union Pacific railroad.
