Police: Palatine man accused of child porn possession
A Palatine man is facing child pornography charges after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, officials said.
Alfonso Benitez-Hernandez, 37, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography, a felony, on April 10, according to a news release from the Palatine Police Department.
The tip from the national organization launched an investigation, which indicated Benitez-Hernandez had several pornographic videos and images involving children younger than 13, the release stated.
Benitez-Hernandez was taken to the Rolling Meadows Courthouse for a detention hearing on Thursday.
