Dundee Backyard Garden Club to host plant sale May 18

The Dundee Backyard Garden Club will host its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 18, in Grafelman Park, Fifth and Main streets in West Dundee. It will be held, rain or shine, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.; no early birds please.

The sale features a wide variety of perennials, grasses, native plants, vegetables, herbs and more from the gardens of club members. Garden “Junque” and gently used garden items also will be available for sale.

Proceeds from the plant sale fund an annual scholarship, available to a high school or college student residing in Algonquin-based Community Unit District 300 who is pursuing a career in horticulture, floriculture, agriculture, environmental science, or conservation fields.

The Backyard Garden Club is accepting new members. Members enjoy casual monthly meetings with a variety of educational programs, garden walks and field trips. New and experienced gardeners welcome! More information available at the plant sale.
