‘Those were the Days’ host to salute radio heroes at Glen Ellyn History Center

You may know him as the soothing voice of “Those Were the Days,” the old-time radio show broadcast every Saturday afternoon from the College of DuPage.

Host Steve Darnall, who starts each episode with a “Hello out there in radio land,” will spotlight the comic book and radio heroes of the 1930s during an audiovisual presentation at the Glen Ellyn History Center on Friday, April 19.

Darnall will look back on Little Orphan Annie, Dick Tracy and Superman as well as other comic book legends. Darnall also delves into romance comics and programs of the 30s.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.
