Schaumburg Township launching drive for food pantry donations

Schaumburg Township is launching a new communitywide food drive starting Saturday, April 13 and ending with the annual National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 11.

The township will have donation bins throughout the community — a full list is on its website (schaumburgtownship.org/news/community-food-drive-4-13-may11/ ) — or donors can contribute via an Amazon wishlist ( https://a.co/9YbUnas ).

Financial donations also are welcome through the township website ( https://tinyurl.com/yc4bjsfh ), via check made to Schaumburg Township Foundation with “Food Pantry” listed in the memo or via cash at the Food Pantry reception desk.

If residents prefer to donate during the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive on May 11, they can fill a bag with nonperishable food items and place near their mailbox. A letter carrier will pick it up and deliver the donation to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry.
