Strawberry Festival returns for 49th year at Bethlehem Elgin

All are welcome to the 49th annual Strawberry Festival at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where the theme of the day is everything strawberry!

You can enjoy freshly-made strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries, or check out the strawberry jam and an assortment of goodies from the bakery from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the church, 340 Grand Blvd. in Elgin. It will be open rain or shine.

There is a jewelry boutique where you may just find a real treasure. There is the Strawberry Patch with one-of-a-kind works of art and great themed baskets. There are also crafts made by the Ladies Circle and outside vendors. You can also pick up some plants for your spring garden. Enjoy a ride in an antique fire truck. There is something for everyone!

Also, it is being held the Saturday before Mother’s Day so remember mom when you are shopping!

The net proceeds will go to the following five agencies: Mission Trip to El Salvador; Bethlehem Child Development Center; Scout Troop 111; YWCA Elgin; and Operation Sweet Live.

The cost for shortcake with beverage is $7.
