What election judges see

I have been an election judge for more than 20 years and I am writing on behalf of myself and the hundreds of other election judges who put in long hours to make our elections safe and honest. I take offense at the recent letters from some misguided readers who impugn the integrity of both the elections and those who act as judges.

I challenge these writers to become election judges.

  1. To become an election judge you must undergo extensive training regarding equipment security, checking in voters for authentication and running a non-partisan election
  2. It is such an outright lie to claim that millions of people here illegally show up to vote. Any person who wishes to vote must be registered, and in order to register to vote, proof of citizenship must be shown. Yes, a person can register on the day of an election, but again, proof of citizenship must be shown.
  3. If those claiming election fraud had voted in this last election, they might have glossed over the oath that is read/said stating that the voter is legally entitled to vote. The violation of this oath has legal consequences.

In all my years of service, I have never been approached by anyone attempting to vote fraudulently. With these safeguards, it would not be possible to have illegal votes in sufficient numbers to overturn an election.
