Woman dies after crash near Sugar Grove

A Geneva woman died Sunday night of injuries she suffered in a crash Thursday.

Sandra Sanchez, 20, was a passenger in a car that went off Ke De Ka Road near Sugar Grove and hit a utility pole.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. The car, a Honda Civic, was driven by a 20-year-old Batavia woman.

It was westbound in the 42W300 block of Ke De Ka when the passenger-side tires went off the road on a curve. The driver tried to correct the vehicle. But it continued off the road. The front passenger side hit the pole.

The Kane County sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
