Geneva Earth Day celebration is April 20

Geneva and the Geneva Park District will have an Earth Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20 at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road.

Various activities are planned, including recycling of shoes, clothes, small electronics and holiday lights for free. Television sets and computer monitors can be recycled for $25 to $35, depending on screen size.

Paper shredding will be offered for free. Other activities include a scavenger hunt, park district games, rain barrel sale, tree whip and tomato plant giveaways, and a self-guided prairie tour.

The Earth Day event is free and open to all ages. For those interested in helping plant native prairie plants from 10 to 11 a.m. at Peck Farm Park, advanced registration is required through the park district.
