College of DuPage dance program to host spring ‘Emergence’ April 19

Join the College of DuPage Dance program for the “Emergence” spring dance concert, featuring the works of students and faculty at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the Belushi Performance Hall at the McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students.

Featured performances are choreographed by dance faculty Jessica Kondrath, Guillermo Leyva, KT Williams and Kristina Saldarelli, and students LaShan Cobb, Madi Doweidt, Katrina Spencer Fenner, Grace Gagliano, Anna LaMountain, Aubrey McGee, Lena Smith, Aliese Psaras and Sonya Vallejo, with screen dances by students of the Choreography and Composition Course.

The dance program encompasses a curriculum that stresses discipline, endurance and awareness of body mechanics creating a versatile, multifaceted dancer. Within the program students gain performance and practicum experience through classes and productions taught by COD faculty who are active members in the Chicago, national, and international dance communities.

It offers introductory and advanced classes in: dance appreciation, ballet, choreography, jazz, modern, tap, and production and performance.
