St. Charles Chamber luncheon focuses on helping businesses soar

The St. Charles Area Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Business Council hosted its “Make Your Business Soar” luncheon March 21 at the DuPage Airport.

Mark Doles, DuPage Airport’s executive director, welcomed attendees to the event space overlooking one of the active runways. He detailed the history of the airport, provided information about the services they provide, and the opportunities available to visit and tour.

Donna Bode, WBC chairperson, introduced Debbie Gurley, executive director of the St. Charles Chamber and the event’s panel of experts — James Voigt, business attorney with Voigt Business Law; Dave Campobello, vice president of the Business Banking Division at First American Bank; Adina Futterman, senior recruiter at First American Bank; and Chris Flood, business librarian at the St. Charles Public Library.

Voigt explained new 2024 legislative updates affecting businesses. Campobello shared financial choices such as SBA loans that can help individuals reach their business goals. Futterman discussed options business owners can use to find, interview, and hire employees. And Flood provided valuable library resources available for business owners.

For each of their events, the WBC selects a charity to support via raffle basket sales. The Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center was this event’s recipient. Andy Parker, center executive director, was in attendance and expressed his appreciation for the support.

Make Your Business Soar was the second of five 2024 events sponsored by the WBC. Future events include “Swing Savvy Network” from 5 to 7 p.m. May 30. Attendees will gain professional instruction for improving their golf swing while also connecting with other chamber members and guests.
