CLC students take the reins in theater production of ‘The Chairs’

Students take the lead, both center and backstage, during “The Chairs,” by Eugène Ionesco, translated by Donald Watson, this spring’s “Play On! A CLC Theatre Student Showcase.” Play On! is an annual celebration of student creativity, talent and achievement.

“I love helping with ‘Play On!,’” Director Alicia Hall said. “This is an opportunity to let our students work really shine. This student team has worked so well together on this production. This is a very challenging play, and they have each brought their best to it.”

In this absurdist farce, a couple spend their time collecting and inventorying chairs only to be overcome by the very objects that give their lives meaning. Join CLC’s students as they showcase their abilities as actors, directors, stage managers, designers and technicians.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 5, 6, 12 and 13; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the studio theater.

Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for CLC staff and students, teenagers and seniors. Tickets are buy one ticket, get one free on April 5 and 12.
