No injuries reported from fire that guts Gurnee garage

No injuries were reported from a late-night fire Sunday in Gurnee that destroyed a residential detached garage.

Firefighters were called to the single-family home on the 35200 block of Juniper Street just after 9:45 p.m. after neighbors reported spotting flames.

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the blaze, officials said.

The fire appears to have started on exterior of the garage, but spread inside where it destroyed one vehicle. The fire is estimated to have caused $60,000 in damage, but remains under investigation.
