Mundelein Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge set for April 14

The annual Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge will be held from noon to 4 p.m. April 14 at Mundelein High School, 1350 W. Hawley St.

There will be a math competition for individual students and an engineering competition for teams of three to five students demonstrating problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creative engineering.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded in team and individual competitions.

The STEM Challenge is open to students in elementary districts 75, 76 and 79 or Mundelein High School District 120 and Carmel High School in Mundelein. Students in District 120 boundaries but who attend elementary, middle or high schools in other areas as well as home-schoolers within the boundaries are welcome to compete.
